National Registry for Congenital Anomalies in Cyprus

About CENSUS

With the help of participating families, the CENSUS registry collects epidemiological data for the surveillance of congenital anomalies in Cyprus. Congenital anomalies (also known as congenital malformations or birth defects) are abnormalities apparent at birth that affect the structure and/or function of the body.

CENSUS is a multidisciplinary, collaborative research project that collects health and sociodemographic information from affected individuals and/or their families in order to tackle uncertainties regarding congenital anomalies in Cyprus.

Our aim to find out how many patients are born with a congenital anomaly in Cyprus every year and find out what increases the risks of certain congenital anomalies.
